The hotel Porto Elounda Mare is an hotel of the highest standard and an excellent choice for even the most discerning amongst our clientele. It is set in large, colourful gardens with a gentle walkway which meanders through its own 9 hole par 3 golf course, down to a private beach. From the windows of each of the fully air-conditioned bedrooms may be seen what are among the most stunning views on any of the Greek islands. Each of the rooms has a refrigerator, satellite TV, hair dryer, safe, and in-house music. For the enthusiastic swimmer the sea bathing from the hotel's private sandy beach is superb, and for that extra touch of luxury you may elect to book a Pool Room with its own access to a private pool shared with four or five other bedrooms. There is also a splendid outdoor pool close to the sea and the Beach Bar/Restaurant and, in addition, an excellent heated indoor pool with FREE use of the steam room and sauna. The staff here exhibit that gentle warmth so typical of the Cretan people. The food is excellent, a mouthwatering mix of typical Cretan dishes and international cuisine, presented in both silver service and a hot/cold buffet style. Indeed, you will be pampered and cossetted from the moment you check in to this wonderful hotel.

From the moment that you arrive at St Gilpen, you will experience a surreal feeling that you have stepped into a picture postcard - One of complete, and perfect beauty.  It has an indescribable charm, with its pristine "Heidi-grows-up" houses adorned with their beatiful hanging baskets and windo boxes. The area around Lake Wolfgang is splendidly suited for hiking. No matter whether you want to walk around the lake, or prefer taking in the Salzkammergut from up high, you're sure to have a wonderful experience.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was inspired by St. Gilgen! Like many guests from all over the world he once appreciated the spectacular scenery and the crystal clear lake. Walking along the lake or going up on the Zwölferhorn mountain in a cable railway you can enjoy the delightful countryside, the fresh, clean air, and the immense variety of our flora and fauna.
Another unforgettable experience is a boat trip between St. Gilgen , Strobl and St. Wolfgang.
